Best of the Trip!

Now that our trip has come to a close, we have been reflecting on what an amazing experience it has been. Joe flies home today from Kilimanjaro, and Anna heads on a bus to Muheza (district in Northeast Tanzania) to start a four week elective. We are very sad to be parting ways for a month, but glad that we were able to do this trip together. So, without further ado, here is our trip hit list:

-Number of flights: 13

-Number of delayed, missed, canceled flights: 0 (1 near miss)

-Number of countries visited: 9 (2 more if you count airport stops only)

-Number of days of rain: 0

-Number of local beers tried: 12

-Lost Items: Just 1 hairtie- pretty good!

-Joe’s favorite countries: Cambodia, South Africa

-Anna’s favorite countries: Jordan, Zambia, South Africa, and (obviously) Tanzania

-Favorite airlines: Korean, Qatar

-Joe’s favorite safari animal: Hornbill

-Anna’s favorite safari animal: Wildebeest (and wild Poquitos)

-Joe’s favorite meal: African feast at GOLD restaurant in Cape Town

-Anna’s favorite meal: Bedouin restaurant in Petra

-Joe’s favorite trip moment: Seeing all the temple complexes in Angkor Wat (especially Angkor Thom)

-Anna’s favorite trip moment: Seeing the Treasury for the first time in Petra; going to Livingstone Island in Victoria Falls; and seeing wild Poquitos

We hope you enjoyed reading about our trip as much as we have enjoyed experiencing it! Keep tuning in to the blog as Anna will continue to post about her experiences in Muheza, whenever there is internet availability…
